1st edition VITA Oracle cards are a tool to access your ancestors wisdom & guidance and sense spirits around you, created by me, clairvoyant tarot reader Yvette Farmer.
In Nov 2024, I self-published sixty-five handwritten oracle cards I had intuited one day in 2020 and quickly handwritten & sketched on plain playing cards. They were a series of phrases & symbols which came from my own ancestors & friendly spirits in my Victorian apartment building in Margate UK. I’ve used my VITA Oracle cards during readings ever since and now I love hearing how my clients and others use their own set of VITA Oracle cards.
VITA is the latin word for ‘life’. The card’s title was also intuited and recalls the Roman phrase ‘De Vita et Morte’ meaning ‘On/about life & death’.

I’m proud to print these oracle cards sustainably & at high quality after a long production process involving scanning my original cards, designing the cards appearance & tuck box, finding a solar powered printer, exploring FSC certified card stocks (from responsible forestry) and print colours, then test printing packs to ensure the cards are as original & personal as possible. These self-published cards are made in small batches.
I also use sustainable palo santo to smoke each deck (removing any stagnant or negative energy) while sending the new owner good luck, abundance and ancestral connection.

Common questions
♡ How should I pick cards?
Any way you you wish is valid.
I like to take a deep breath, ask my ancestors for guidance while I’m shuffling then stop when my intuition tells me to (close your eyes if it helps). Next I pull (whatever number comes to mind) cards from the top, middle or bottom of the deck. I spread my selected cards out and read them together. Cards can fly out while I’m shuffling - when they do it’s your ancestors making sure you get that card’s message, it’s an important, timely one. When the cards feel jumpy in your hands, your ancestors have guidance they’ve been waiting to share with you.
Sometimes I just fan out all the cards face down and select cards I feel drawn to. You will find your own way.
Another pro tip: the clearer your question, the clearer your ancestors’ answer will be.
♡ How many cards should I pull?
On the back of the Title card in the pack are suggestions for use, I recommend a three card spread for a clear, nuanced answer to a question but feel free to use the cards in whatever way feels right to you. Trust your intuition.
♡ How often should I pull cards?
Whenever you feel the need. Some pull a card daily, others only use the cards when they need ancestral guidance or the comfort of ancestral connection. This pack of cards is deliberately light so you can carry them around in your bag & luggage (lots of my clients are travelling actors & touring musicians) and read the cards whenever you want.
♡ Can I find out more about a card’s message?
Yes, I post about VITA card meanings on instagram @vita_oracle. If you don’t see your card there, message me and I’ll share my own meaning but keep in mind, the meaning you attach to a card intuitively is just as valid.
♡ Why are some words in capital letters?
While handwriting these phrases, I didn’t realise I capitalised some words but these words seem to emphasise what you need to action or believe - they are key words giving another layer of meaning to the cards message. Often the capitalised words confirm or clarify the greatest message across your spread of VITA Oracle cards or in a tarot card message.
♡ Why are some cards white on black?
The ten black cards in the deck are the ‘major cards’. These give the strongest ancestral messages, so they have the most important message amongst your spread of cards. I intuitively chose these ten cards during the print production process.
♡ I love the skull illustration. Did you draw it?
VITA Oracle features my ‘Yvette’s Intuition’ logo by illustrator Jade Alexandra Spranklen @sprankenstein who drew it in response to my brief looking for “a friendly-looking skull logo as a symbol of human connection & ancestral spirits, grounded with vegetation that looks part UK superstition & part LA mysticism. I love it too.
